League 2 Season Preview 201011 League 2 Season Preview 201011 from lovelystyle's blog

League Two is going to be a very interesting league this year, gone are the big spenders Notts County and gone are perennial League Two challengers Rochdale, Yo-yo clubs Gillingham and Wycombe have joined from League One and Oxford make their return to the football league and Stevenage make their bow to perennial strugglers Macclesfield. The bookies favourites have been installed as Bradford, they have acquired a quality manager in ex England manager Peter Taylor, he took the helm last season and inherited a poor squad from Stuart McCall with many of the top players being out injured and they finished in a disappointing 14th. Taylor has strengthened Sheldon Richardson Jersey considerably this season bringing in Luke Oliver, Jake Speight to name just a couple and Tommy Doherty in particular who looks a great signing, if James Hanson and Omar Daley can stay fit and if Gareth Evans can find his goal scoring boots then they will be there or there bouts.Wycombe, Peter Taylors former team are now lead by Gary Waddock will be a strong side having been relegated last season they have lost Matty Harrold to Shrewsbury who lead the line well without the return of goals he would of like but in players like John Paul Pittman and Kevin Betsy they have flair and pace and especially on their own patch they will be very hard to beat.Gillingham to win League Two 2010/11Another of the relegated sides are Gillingham who are being lead for a second time by Andy He senthaler, he recently pulled off a major coup in bringing in hit man Adebayo Akenfenwa, who is a mountain of a man and will guarantee you goals and a sists this signing should make up for the lo s of Simeon Jackson who went to Norwich with Cody McDonald coming the other way and he should also be up near the top of the scoring charts, in Andy Barcham they have one of the best wingers in the league and in Kevin Maher they have experience in the middle and the defence is well Ray-Ray Armstrong Jersey marshalled by Simon King, this is why Im tipping them to win the league. Shrewsbury will also be a threat with Matt Harrold leading the line in place of the departed Dave Hibbert and with Lional Ainsworth supplying the flair, in Graham Turner they have a very experienced manager and if the likes of Craig Disley can stay fit then they will be looking at a promotion push, with new signings Dave Raven and Ian Sharps at the back they have experience they will be a real threat this season, my only worry is where the goals are going to come from Harrold is not prolific, elder and Bright have not settled and Bradshaw has potential but at the moment thats all it is.I have picked out three teams as my dark horses, Port Vale, Aldershot and Lincoln. Vale have a great manager in Micky Adams, and in Marc and Justin Richards they have a strong front paring and if they can hit it off will be more than a match for most, and in the middle they have the troubled Gary Roberts there is no denying his ability lets hope Adams can get the best out of him and it will reap the rewards.Aldershot Town have lost a key player Trevon Coley Jersey in Scott Donnelly but their midfield looks really strong with the signings of the experienced Glenn Little and Luke Gutteridge and in Manny Panther they have pace and power Austin Corbett Jersey and speaking of pace and power they have kept hold of Marvin Morgan who is a real threat and should again be pushing up near the 20 goal mark. Lincoln may not be everyones tips after a shocking season however in Chris Sutton they have a bright young manager who has spent wisely in signing Mustapha Carayol fro Torquay who has been gaining rave reviews in pre season along with Gavin McCallum and Albert Jarret they now have pace in their team and having Adam Watt back from a broken leg will be like a new signing, however I do feel without the goals of David Somma they may struggle up top as I dont see Drew Journeyman Broughton and Delroy Facey getting more than 12 goals between them. Finally for relegation Im tipping Accrington and Stockport, John Coleman has done a superb job at Stanley and in the Stanley Ultras they are one of the smallest but best supported teams in the league however they have lost the goals of Symes, Grant and Kee and Miles and not replaced them due to a transfer embargo placed of them which was only recently lifted, they have brought in the experienced Sean He sey for some much needed grit at the back after losing Kempson to Grimsby and they will need Captain Proctor to be his usual immense self however i really do see it being an uphill struggle for Stanley this season.Stockport will also struggle in my opinion, it has been a turbulent few years at County and they have lost numerous players over the last year with all their young talent being sold to aid the clubs debts, they have managed to keep hold of Owain Fon Williams and in Danny Swails they have experience at the back and they have also brought in Big Barry Conlon but you never really know what your going to get from Barry, Paul Simpson will do his best but i can see it all being in vein. That is my round up on League Two Im Ozzie Newsome Jersey sure Chesterfield fans and Rotherham fans may feel hard done by that I have not mentioned them as I feel they will be up there also but at the other end Macclesfield, Cheltenham and Barnet will also be looking over their shoulders.
